The July issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is revealing on Saturday that the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 game will ship for the Nintendo Switch in Japan this fall. The release will include three new systems.
The new ad-hoc co-op feature will let players connect and play with up to six players locally for the first time in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series. Using the motion sensor will let players use ultimate techniques. For example, players will be able to hold the Joy-Cons in both hands to use a Kamehameha attack. Two players will be able to use Joy-Cons to battle against each other on one Nintendo Switch.
The release will offer the "Time Patrol" story from the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse game as a limited-time bonus. The first copies will include a download code to unlock more than 70 characters from the main story immediately.
The magazine is also revealing that the fourth DLC pack for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game will include Super Saiyan Blue Vegito and Fused Zamasu in Japan.
Bandai Namco Group's March 2017 balance sheet revealed last week that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, as well as Tales and Taiko no Tatsujin games, are planned for release for the Nintendo Switch during the current fiscal year. The company's 2017 fiscal year began on April 1 and ends on March 31, 2018.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the game for PS4 and Xbox One in North America on October 25 and in Europe on October 28. The company released the game on PC via Steam worldwide on October 28, and released the game for PS4 in Japan on November 2.
Players fight to "protect the history of Dragon Ball" in the game. In the game's story, Time Patrollers go on missions to prevent history from being changed. However, there may be parts of history that they would like to change.
Dimps developed the title after it worked on the first Xenoverse game. The first game shipped for the PS4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 consoles in Japan on February 5, 2015.
