Game developer Kaga Create began streaming a new 195-second promotional movie for the upcoming PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita ports Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui (When They Cry -The Best-) on Wednesday.
The video notes "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui, the masterpiece in mystery adventure games that spawned a boom in comics, anime, and games, returns on the PS3 and PS Vita with a fully voiced soundtrack!" The video then recaps 07th Expansion's original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni visual novel software, which launched for PC in 2002. The story revolves around murders that coincide with an annual festival in a quiet rural village in the summer of 1983.
The video boasts that the new edition is a complete port that contains all past 19 scenarios that were included in previous versions of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni game. The upcoming version also has new features, such as cross-platform saving. The soundtrack now features over 140 voice cast members, as well as 16 vocal songs (including new ones).
The game will ship for both platforms on March 12 in Japan. The physical PlayStation 3 version for retail for 7,980 yen (about US$68) and the downloadable version for 7,000 yen (about US$60). The physical PlayStation Vita version will retail for 6,980 yen (about US$59) and the downloadable version for 6,000 yen (about US$51).

Original creator Ryūkishi07 and his dojin circle 07th Expansion released a new installment in the series titled Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hō in August.
The original software inspired two television anime series, several video anime projects, two live-action films, and manga adaptations by several artists.
