The official website for the Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) stage play adaptation added additional cast members on Thursday and revealed that the play will cover the Water Tribe Arc. The arc runs from volume 14 to 16 of the original manga, and was not covered by the anime adaptation.
The additional cast includes:
Kazuki Ono as Hiyou Ayako Miwa as An Lili notall's Narumi Katase as Ayura Chihiro Seto as Tetora Tomoyuki Miura as Han Joo-Doh
The previously-announced cast includes:
Risa Niigaki (Sōshū Yakyoku stage play) as Yona Yūya Matsushita (Black Butler, Boys Over Flowers musicals) as Hak Masato Saki as Su-Won Yūta Higuchi as YUN Ryō Kitamura as Kija Kōichi Takamatsu as Sinha Tatsunari Kimura as Jaeha Shōhei Hashimoto as Zeno
The play will run at the EX Theater Roppongi in Tokyo for 10 performances from March 16-21.
Viz Media announced earlier in October that it has licensed the manga, and it describes the story:
The fantasy adventure shojo manga series that also inspired the fan favorite anime about a princess who's on a quest to reclaim her throne! Princess Yona lives an ideal life as the only princess of her kingdom. Doted on by her father, the king, and protected by her faithful guard Hak, she cherishes the time spent with the man she loves, Soo-won. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when she witnesses her father's murder!
Kusanagi, the creator of Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush, and NG Life, launched the Akatsuki no Yona manga in 2009. The manga's 19th volume shipped in September with an original anime DVD.
The 24-episode television anime of the manga ended in March. Crunchyroll and Funimation both streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
